Obverse; Bust of Monarch ,worn but outline quite good.
FERDND.V11.  DEI. GRATIA.  and dated 1819
Reverse; two columns , one each side of a shield  which has

Answer
Hi Kevin,
This is a 2 reales coin from the Bogota mint in Colombia. The unfortunate thing is that the coin is either very heavily worn or is not authentic. The weight of 6.2 grams is about half a gram too light. This would be an appropriate weight only for a coin that is heavily worn, but at that point you would not be able to read most of the wording. Since you can clearly read the details, I am certain the coin is a copy.
Thanks for the question! =)

Expertise

My specialty is world coins from the 18th to 20th centuries, primarily non-US foreign coins and related areas such as errors and exonumia (tokens, medals, etc.). I can answer questions relating to identification, grading, selling, preservation and evaluation of such items. In addition to catalog value, I can give you the practical market value and trends for specific types of coins. I will also take questions regarding counterfeits (both modern and antique) and on how to identify them. I am NOT knowledgeable in paper money/banknotes, ancient or "shipwreck" coins. Thank you.
