Coin and Paper Money Collecting/Silver Ingot

Question

Front side
About ten years ago I found a metal ingot in my back yard.  I was young then and thought nothing of it and somehow got lost in my house over the years.  I found it, and wanted to get more information on this.
The ingot(covered in a black layer)is most likely silver.  On the front side is J. Parsons & CO. COL. Assayers 1860, and is surrounded by a single wreath.  On the reverse is a single Eagle.  The condition is lacking.

Answer
Phillip,

As we discussed on the phone, you will need to have this examined first-hand by an expert to determine its authenticity.

Check the following websites for listings of shows that the major authentification services will be attending :

Expertise

My strong familiarity with all U.S. Mint coins, extensive reference library, and close relationships with many other dealers allows me to identify just about any coin made in the USA. I receive regular updates to all the current price guides -- both wholesale & retail -- to provide accurate values. So, with a good description or pictures, I should be able to identify and value any U.S. coin you have.

Experience

I've been a coin dealer since the 1980's and a coin collector since the 1960's. I specialize in U.S. Silver Coins and have an active online website -- The Working Man's Rare Coins -- http://www.workingmancoins.com -- offering information and inventory in U.S. coins.
