Question
I see so many different values on this coin, from $30. all the way up to thousands!
Obviously they confuse me.
The coin was given to me by a collector in San Diego many years ago.
It appears to be in mint condition, but I'm not sure.
Can you tell me an approximate value without such a large discrepancy in price range?

A picture would have really helped, however I will do my best ...

1925 is considered a common date for Peace Dollars.  In circulated condition, it's prettymuch a bullion item -- worth about $30, whether it's lightly or heavily worn.  A really nice uncirculated one is worth about $50.

However, if it has an "S" mintmark, on the back below the word ONE, if can be worth significantly more IF it's in nice uncirculated condition -- perhaps $160-$700

In order for your coin to be worth thousands, it would need to have the "S" mintmark, AND be professionally graded MS-65 or higher, which is almost unheard of.
