Coin and Paper Money Collecting/Error Penny

Question
Hi Dan I just left a coin shop in my area to see if my coin was real. I believed it was but I wanted to be sure. They confirmed it was real and not supposed to happen. It's a 2 tailed penny. One side is a clear strike the other is reverse of the top. But not as clear. Here's what must have happened, there was a penny that didn't clear after it was struck the penny was fine then my penny dropped in on top of it and then was struck. that's how it got 2 tails they line up with each other. A one of a kind error. I've been looking and can't find it anywhere. Any idea of value or where I could find it's value. It's not a trick coin it's real. Any info you could provide will be greatly appreciated. Also there is no date. Thanks Chas

Answer
Chas,

What you have is known as a brockage error.

Here is a website that explains how this happens :

If you send pictures of your coin to an error dealer I know, he should be able to give you an estimate of its value :

Good luck,

Expertise

My strong familiarity with all U.S. Mint coins, extensive reference library, and close relationships with many other dealers allows me to identify just about any coin made in the USA. I receive regular updates to all the current price guides -- both wholesale & retail -- to provide accurate values. So, with a good description or pictures, I should be able to identify and value any U.S. coin you have.
