Question
front and back of coin
front and back of coin
I am wondering what this coin is , not for sure if it is a king george coin or post colonial have no idea, can you help me

Answer
Hi Jeff,
This is a British farthing or halfpenny, depending on size. Both have teh same designs, but the farthing is around quarter size while the halfpenny is closer to a US half dollar in size. This one would be from the 1730's to 1750's. Unfortunately due to heavy wear its practical value at auction is around $5, maybe a little higher.
Thanks for the question! =)

Expertise

My specialty is world coins from the 18th to 20th centuries, primarily non-US foreign coins and related areas such as errors and exonumia (tokens, medals, etc.). I can answer questions relating to identification, grading, selling, preservation and evaluation of such items. In addition to catalog value, I can give you the practical market value and trends for specific types of coins. I will also take questions regarding counterfeits (both modern and antique) and on how to identify them. I am NOT knowledgeable in paper money/banknotes, ancient or "shipwreck" coins. Thank you.
