Question
My dad got a misprinted quarter in some change many years ago it is a clad quarter that has nothing on it at all on either side it doesnt have any raised edges or ridges on the sides i was just wondering if you knew anything bout them or how much they are worth he is a coin collector and has many neat ones but that one is my favorite it is a quarter that never was and was just wondering what information you could offer me on it. This is known as a blank planchet error.  Usually this happens when a coin blank gets stuck in the corner of a coin bin and never gets dumped into the hopper for the coin press.  Then the bin is used to catch coins coming out of the press, and the blank one gets knocked loose and bagged with the rest of the normal quarters.

These generally sell for $3 to $5
