Hi Ron

I have found this political token in a box of old coins, there are a few different tokens, but the one I am asking you about is about the size of a us quarter it is bronze in color, it is  thick and weighs about 1/2 ounce,  it has a President U S Grant face on the token, on the reverse side of the token, it reads IN HONOR OF THE 15TH AMENDMENT, proclamation ISSUED MARCH 30TH 1870.  If possible can you tell anything about this token, I have been searching the internet and can not find anything about this particular token.

Thank You

Answer
Hi Steve:

Thanks for the opportunity to answer your question.

I'm not familiar with your token, but I believe I found one listed (under 15th Amendment token) and sold by Stack's. The group of four sold for $120. I'm sure they can provide more information. You can find contact data at: http://stacks.com/

You may also want to check the exonumia category under coins and currency on eBay from time to time to see if your token is listed what it brings.

If you live close to a local shop, they should offer an opinion as to it's value and if it is authentic at no charge. Always try and get at least two opinions and try and deal with PNG dealers if possible. If you should decide to sell your token to a dealer, remember they will offer about 50% to 60% of the retail value. Here's a link to find one in your area: http://www.pngdealers.com/dealersearch.php
