Question
Hi there,
i have a 1915, 1 Dinar, with designer name, coin alignment coin.  I am trying to get an idea of value.  can you help?

Answer
Hi Seann,
I had answered this question a couple days ago, I apologize if you did not receive it.

Coin alignment is scarcer than medal alignment for these coins, but value is still pretty low for circulated examples. Both types of alignment are fairly common for 1915 coins. One in this alignment that was high grade, but circulated just sold for a little under $10 including shipping on eBay. These coins need to be certified in high mint state grades to have significant value, regardless of the alignment.
That being said, the coin alignment variety without designer's name is the rarest for this year and worth at least double what the coin alignment variety with designer name is worth.
Thanks for the question! =)

Expertise

My specialty is world coins from the 18th to 20th centuries, primarily non-US foreign coins and related areas such as errors and exonumia (tokens, medals, etc.). I can answer questions relating to identification, grading, selling, preservation and evaluation of such items. In addition to catalog value, I can give you the practical market value and trends for specific types of coins. I will also take questions regarding counterfeits (both modern and antique) and on how to identify them. I am NOT knowledgeable in paper money/banknotes, ancient or "shipwreck" coins. Thank you.
