Coin and Paper Money Collecting/1920 Australian penny

Question
I have found a whole  album collection of Australian penny,of grandfathers.  George V 1911-1936. the 1930 is missing ,of coarse ,but instead he has put a 1920 coin. this is much smaller than the other coins. He has written on album beside 1920 coin "freak coin".
Can you tell me a little history/value about this coin.
Many thanks for your advise/ information.
Kind regards.   Wendy

Answer
Hi Wendy,
It could either be a toy coin, or a penny that was struck on a half-penny planchet. The latter would make it very valuable.
I cannot tell you any more without seeing clear pictures of the coin. You can attach pictures to a follow-up question on this site.
Thanks! =)

Expertise

My specialty is world coins from the 18th to 20th centuries, primarily non-US foreign coins and related areas such as errors and exonumia (tokens, medals, etc.). I can answer questions relating to identification, grading, selling, preservation and evaluation of such items. In addition to catalog value, I can give you the practical market value and trends for specific types of coins. I will also take questions regarding counterfeits (both modern and antique) and on how to identify them. I am NOT knowledgeable in paper money/banknotes, ancient or "shipwreck" coins. Thank you.
