Question
I found a quarter with the date of 1776-1976 on the front but it had no drummer boy on the back. It does have the  eagle on it and a D mint stamp. thank for your time

Answer
Hi Robert,
That is an interesting coin.  As you are probably aware, the bicentenial quarters did have the drummer on the reverse so what you have is either extremely rare, or it was fabricated from 2 quarters after it left the mint.  I tend to believe it is the latter.

You can have the coin "authenticated/certified" by Numismatic Guarantee Corporation in Sarasota Florida.  Check out their website www.NGCcoin.com

Good Luck
