I have a 1 lb. 1878 morgan silver dollar replica. It has a certificate that says it is 1 lb. of solid .999 silver. It also This is from the American Historic Socity I also has a serial no.
Is it real

Also I have a i lb. 2000 american eagle that I was also told it was  1 lb. solid .999 silver Could it actually be worth it?

I am told that 1 lb. is equal to 12 troy ozs.

Answer
Mike, I assume by real you mean real silver which has gone up in price a lot lately, latest price in the range of $39 per ounce.  A troy ounce is 1.097 ounces, so that a pound would be 16 regular ounces or about 14 1/2 troy.

If you have a certificate of authenticity it would likely be authentic, unless that was originally forged or someone pulled a switch.  The only way to be sure is to show the pieces to an expert in medals or a dealer in bullion, Jim Liawniczak
