Coin and Paper Money Collecting/nazi brot token

Question
Brot
Brot
I picked up this nazi bread token at a flea market and was wondering if it had any value.  It's 1 1/8 across and brass.  It's in really good shape.  Thanks, Zac

Answer
Hi Zac,
Nice token. Is it uniface, or is there something pictured on the other side as well? If it's uniface then it's the same type as one I saw at an auction this past April. That one did a little under $40, but yours is in much better condition. I would expect $50 to $75 as an auction and a cool $100 as a retail price in a coin shop.
Please note, however, that the fuzzy picture makes it impossible for me to see if this is an original token or a later version. Later versions are novelty items not worth much of anything.
Thanks for the question! =)

Expertise

My specialty is world coins from the 18th to 20th centuries, primarily non-US foreign coins and related areas such as errors and exonumia (tokens, medals, etc.). I can answer questions relating to identification, grading, selling, preservation and evaluation of such items. In addition to catalog value, I can give you the practical market value and trends for specific types of coins. I will also take questions regarding counterfeits (both modern and antique) and on how to identify them. I am NOT knowledgeable in paper money/banknotes, ancient or "shipwreck" coins. Thank you.
