Question
I just came across a 1970 D dime with no ridges along the side.  There doesn't appear to be any evidence that they were once there and were either worn off or removed.  What do I have?

Tony,

It may have been struck outside of its retaining collar, so it got no reeding.  But usually when this happens, the strike will be a bit off-center, and there will be a bit of reeding on on side.

Without seeing it first-hand, this is the best guess I can ofer.
