the back
Hi, i'm an asian and i have a coin but fail to gather any information of it. Please help me to figure out it is a true coin o a fake coin.

the other side of the coin is queen Victoria face
thank you.

Answer
Hi Keith,
This one is a fantasy issue, dating from sometime in the past 50 years.
There were several of these made, including 3/4 cent coins dated 1820, 1899 and 1932. Victoria was not yet queen in 1816, only in 1838 she took the throne and her face appeared on coins. Some of these are listed in the Krause catalog "Unusual World Coins".
The value for these coins is usually $10 to $15 in good condition. People collect them as a curious novelty item.
Thanks for the question! =)

Expertise

My specialty is world coins from the 18th to 20th centuries, primarily non-US foreign coins and related areas such as errors and exonumia (tokens, medals, etc.). I can answer questions relating to identification, grading, selling, preservation and evaluation of such items. In addition to catalog value, I can give you the practical market value and trends for specific types of coins. I will also take questions regarding counterfeits (both modern and antique) and on how to identify them. I am NOT knowledgeable in paper money/banknotes, ancient or "shipwreck" coins. Thank you.
