Question
I was going thru some change and came across a 2006 series D nickel.The back of the coin looks fine but when I looked at the front I noticed the presidents head is not centered on the coin it is offset to the left.The edge of the coin is smooth.I`ve never seen a coin with the presidents head offset is this a coin that was made wrong and is there any value to it.I know nothing about coins but have heard of some with value when made defective .The coin is not in perfect condition but is not corroded .All the printing on the back seems right.The front says In God We Trust and Liberty above the date 2006 with the letter D under the date.Any information you can give me would be helpfull. 2006 was when the design changed on the nickel -- all nickels dated 2006 or newer will have this new offset design.
