Question
Hello Sr.
I have a George Washington 250th anniversary of birth 1982 999% silver coin and I was just wondering what the value of it was just so i would know because i took it to 4 different coin shop in the same day and they have all told me different value that don't make any since. But thank you for you time and hope to hear from you soon, Have a great day.

Answer
Annie,

With the current high price of silver, this commemorative half dollar has prettymuch become a bullion silver item -- I see them getting put into the bulk silver bags all the time.

Currently, they are worth about $14.00 -- if you are offered more than that, you should take it.

I hope this helps,

Dan

Expertise

My strong familiarity with all U.S. Mint coins, extensive reference library, and close relationships with many other dealers allows me to identify just about any coin made in the USA. I receive regular updates to all the current price guides -- both wholesale & retail -- to provide accurate values. So, with a good description or pictures, I should be able to identify and value any U.S. coin you have.

Experience

I've been a coin dealer since the 1980's and a coin collector since the 1960's. I specialize in U.S. Silver Coins and have an active online website -- The Working Man's Rare Coins -- http://www.workingmancoins.com -- offering information and inventory in U.S. coins.
