Question

Hello Joe,
I found an interesting coin in my change the other day that I would like to find out more about. It's a 1966 Lincoln cent that appears as if it has been struck twice? I've attached photos. The color in the photo is not accurate, due to the digital microscope used to capture the detail. It's actually just the "normal" copper color. Any information that I could get about it would be much appreciated! Thanks for your help.
Ed

Answer
Hi Ed,
Double struck coins are scarce, but not rare.  I have handled a few dozen over the years.

Depending upon market conditions, they trade in the $75 to $200 range.  Check on eBay for similar items and don't forget to check auctions that have ended.

Good Luck
Joe
