Question
hi i have a 1934a $20 bill thats has hawaii on it i would like to know how much it is worth.... thank you

Answer
Keith, in late 1941 and early 1942, there was some concern that the Japanese might successfully invade the Hawaiian islands.  Therefore, all money in circulation there was printed with the word Hawaii on it.  If the worst came to pass, at least the Japanese wouldn't get our money supply as we would demonitize and not accept any of the bills with "Hawaii" stamped on them.  These pieces are collectible today and have a good following.  But as in everything else, condition dictates the value.  These pieces can be worth $75 or so in pretty decent condition, but it depends.  Try going to www.ebay.com and doing a search for $20 Hawaii and see what is being sold what condition it is in and compare your bill and condition to what you see.  Jim
