1958 DDO Obverse
1958 DDO Obverse
Dear Sir,(Friend). Its nice to see you back from vacation. How was Christmas?
New Years Eve? Well,I got something that deserves your attention Please.A 1958 Penny.A Possible DDO? I know this Penny is #1 Most Wanted DDO on LCR's website Listing. My Observations,Sir.

1.Linclons (Chin) shows a (Clear Doubling). Its Fater and Rounder in comparison to a Regular 1958 Penny. In Regular 1958 Penny,Lincolns Chin is more Pointy and facing downward,Not,Roundish like mine.
When looking at it with a naked eye, even a 3X,one can't see the line dividing the (ADDED CHIN).But,the Scanner Image, picked up the line. Its absoultley clear to see, even in a small image, ofcourse enlargment via Windows XP own Magnification are easier as well.

2.The L in Liberty seem to have another L on top of it.That image Only shows in a Digital Camera Photo I have. The Tip-cut-of the Letter (Glow ends) showing clear.

3.Lincolns Eyes lids are Glinting and Fater then normal.
4.Lincolns Tip of the nose is Glinting.
5.The Letter "B" in Liberty has a (I) placed on the beginning leg of it.Easliy seen on this photo I am attaching.

Should all of the above show HOPE of it Being a DDO to you,Sir.I'll take to the Next Step (Microscope-Crystal-Clear-Sharp Photos of the coin). Please,Kindly take your time in evaluation of this Penny. This, upon your advise.

I look foward to your advise, help,God Bless.

Christmas and New Year's were fine. I needed some time away from answering coin questions. I hope your holidays were nice for you.

Once again, as I've said before, there are thousands of die varieties on the Lincoln cent, and most are not RARE. The attached photo of the 1958 DDO does not help me to confirm your coin as a doubled die. You need to contact those sites and the experts I provided you. I magnified your picture, but do not see any of the features you speak of other than the die chip before the "B" in "LIBERTY".

Always try and use a magnifier with 14X to 20X power. That should provide enough power to verify the die doubling.

For more photos and information on the 1958 doubled die, see: http://koinpro.tripod.com/Articles/1958DoubledDieCent.htm

You may also want to try the error coin forum, and ask them about your coins. See: http://www.coincommunity.com/forum/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=5

Sorry I can't provide you more data, but, to my knowledge, there is no other known 1958 obverse doubled die on the cent.
