Respected Sir,

I have an old American coin.

It Says LIBERTY on the top with a female face in the center and 1796 on the bottom on one side and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA on the other side with an eagle in the center.

Kindly let me knw the value of this coin & whether I should keep it or sell it.

You don't give enough information to really pinpoint what you have. Weight, size, diameter, thickness, metal composition and condition all help to establish value. You also no not indicate whether it is a cent, dime, half or dollar. I'm going to guess it is a dollar and a replica, not a real U.S. coin. It would be an interesting conversation piece, but not worth more than a few dollars unless it is silver. As a silver replica, it could be worth $20 to $25.

Worked Saturdays at Huntington Beach Coin Exchange 1980-1999. Had table and sold coins at a number of coin and gun shows in So CA, AZ and NV. Sell coins, tokens and currency currently at my space in the Pomona Antique Center. Past "Errorscope" Editor. Presently CONECA Examiner.
