Question
I was going through my 2009 US Cent Collection tonight and found what I believe to be an oddity.  I have all four variations of the US Cent, but this one is different from the others.  On the reverse is the image of the  US Capitol Bldg before it was completed.  At the bottom, around the bottom edge is the inscription in large letters "ONE CENT".  Below that.....epluribus unum in smaller letters. Ever seen this?  Thanks

Answer
George,

Yes, this is the fourth and final cent in that series.  They are listed as follows:

Kentucky childhood- which is a log cabin
Indiana years- Lincoln sitting on a log
Life in Illinois- Lincoln outside a capitol building
Presidency- the unfinished capitol

All of these are dated 2009.  In 2010 we went to the current "shield reverse" penny.
