Coin and Paper Money Collecting/1850 french 5 franc silver piece

Diameter of the coin = 36 mm; thickness = 2.5 mm; weight = 25 g.  Mint mark is A.   Shows some wear but everything is legible.  I am curious about the value of this coin.  Thanks for your input.  AC

Hi Andrew,
Depending on condition, the coin typically sells for anywhere from $30 for one with significant wear up to $500+ for one that is in mint condition without any wear. If you would like to attach a clear picture of the coin to a follow-up question, I can certainly determine the grade and specific value for that grade.
Thanks for the question! =)

My specialty is world coins from the 18th to 20th centuries, primarily non-US foreign coins and related areas such as errors and exonumia (tokens, medals, etc.). I can answer questions relating to identification, grading, selling, preservation and evaluation of such items. In addition to catalog value, I can give you the practical market value and trends for specific types of coins. I will also take questions regarding counterfeits (both modern and antique) and on how to identify them. I am NOT knowledgeable in paper money/banknotes, ancient or "shipwreck" coins. Thank you.
