Coin and Paper Money Collecting/1813 Argentinian Coin

We would like to both authenticate & value a coin we have. It is what appears to be an 1813 Argentinian J8 Escudos coin, with a radiant sun and 'Provincias Del Rio De La Plata' on the back, but as we have no expertise in this field, we cannot be sure.

Hi Conor,
I received your pictures and unfortunately what you have is a novelty replica which appears to be made of brass. A genuine 8 escudos would be about the size of a silver dollar and weigh in the range of 27 grams depending on how much wear there is.
Thanks for the question! =)

My specialty is world coins from the 18th to 20th centuries, primarily non-US foreign coins and related areas such as errors and exonumia (tokens, medals, etc.). I can answer questions relating to identification, grading, selling, preservation and evaluation of such items. In addition to catalog value, I can give you the practical market value and trends for specific types of coins. I will also take questions regarding counterfeits (both modern and antique) and on how to identify them. I am NOT knowledgeable in paper money/banknotes, ancient or "shipwreck" coins. Thank you.
