I boughht these at an estate sale over 10 years. never had them evaluated by anyone.. I hear that these coins are quite often conterfeited.. any advice you can give is greatly appreciated

Hello Tom,

I am sorry to say that I do not believe that this is an authentic coin. The image on the obverse is similar to authentic coins but they did not strike a dollar with the dragon on the reverse.

The authentic ones also have the denomination imprinted on the reverse. Since this has no denomination we would not call this counterfeit but it would be classified as a medal.
