Coin and Paper Money Collecting/USA half dollars

ANSWER: If you are referrng to half dollars dated before 1965, they are 90% silver.
Currently, those coins are worth about $8 each for their silver alone.

QUESTION: These are from 1968,1970,1972, 1974.

ANSWER: 1965-1970 are 40% silver.  Current value is about $3 each.  After 1970, there is no silver in them

QUESTION: Thsnks Joe.  But is there no chance at all they could have been from the 90% silver planchets?  How would I find out?   Is there any place close to Amarillo or Lubbock Tx. where I could take them to find out?

Anything is possible, but the odds are pretty slim.  I could see the potential for coins dated 1965 whereby the mint machine still had 90% blanks in the hopper.  But later years?  I don't think so.

Check your local phone book or the internet for a dealer.  I don't know any dealers in your area.
