Coin and Paper Money Collecting/copper coin

We found and old coin outdoors, it seems to be copper and larger than a penny, little bigger than a quarter, smaller than a 50 cent piece.  All we can make out on it is the word liberty and maybe a star, other side appears to say us on it.  Such bad shape wouldnt be worth anything but wondering what it is.

Hi Patty,

It is an OLD US Large Cent.  They were that size until 1856 so your coin was minted prior to that.
They aren't especially rare, average condition coins sell for about $30

Needless to say, yours is too worn to have any value.
