Coin and Paper Money Collecting/Off-center 20 dollar bill

Question
HI,

I've researched misprints a little bit, and basically for currency to be worth hundreds of dollars the currency has to be uniquely misprinted such as an up-side-down serial number or something like that. I have both a hundred dollar bill and a twenty dollar bill that are in pretty good condition but slightly off center. Both of them are printed very close the the top of the bill and have a large margin below the center picture. I was wondering what do you think these would be worth?

Thank you,

  Audrey

Answer
Hi Audrey,

In order for the note to have value as an offset the shift has to be pretty dramatic.  Minor shifting is common.  If the design of the note is shifted off the face it might have a premium but not too much.  The best way to find out is to put it on eBay and see what it brings.

Kind regards,

Greg
