2005 d nickel error?
2005 d nickel error?
Hi... We all have heard of the 2005-D 5C Speared Bison...right? Of course you have;)
Well the other day I came across a 2005 d nickel (Westward Journey, Ocean View) and I looked closer at Jefferson 's head... And to me... It looks like a spear is going threw him??.  I Was hoping maybe you have heard or seen something like this before..? If you have... Can you tell me a little about it? Please???

Possible die gouge. Photo not the best. Not familiar with it, but at best, likely a few bucks if a true error. Millions could be struck by a single die pair, so it's possibly common. You may want to check Ebay to see if similar coins are listed and what they may bring.
For examples of die gouges, See:
