Question
Dan, thank you for my answers on zinc pennies. I have a few more coins to ask about.... We(family) have (1) 1921, (3) 1922, (1) 1923 & (1) 1924 silver dollars, (56coins) 50 cent pcs. (1940/41/42/43/44/45) being the oldest, any real value? Last, what was the last year for 50cent silver coins? Quarters-lots?????

Thank you again for your help!

Steve

Answer
Hi Steve,

1922, 23, and 24 are common dates for Peace dollars -- each are worth about $20

1921, if it's a Peace dollar, could be worth $100 or more (send me pics if it is) ... however, if it's a Morgan dollar, it's common and worth about $22

all the half dollars you have listed are common dates, and will be worth only their silver value (about $7 each), unless they look absolutely like brand new, and have NOT been cleaned.

anything newer than that, up until 1964, is also silver, and will be worth $7 each.

they did make partial silver half dollars from 1965 to 1970 -- these are worth $2 each.

as for quarters and dimes, anything dated 1964 or older will be silver -- quarters are worth $3.25 and dimes are worth $1.30

I hope this helps,

Dan

p.s. if you're looking to sell these, let me know -- I'm sure we can work something out.

Expertise

My strong familiarity with all U.S. Mint coins, extensive reference library, and close relationships with many other dealers allows me to identify just about any coin made in the USA. I receive regular updates to all the current price guides -- both wholesale & retail -- to provide accurate values. So, with a good description or pictures, I should be able to identify and value any U.S. coin you have.
