i found a 2012 penny and it has no copper on it  can you tell me more about it please

Answer
Hi Debbie,
You have to have the coin inspected, there could be a few reasons this is.  First off, it could be the coin never received the copper plating.  Today's cents are zinc with copper plating.  #2. The copper plating was either purposely removed or corroded.  #3 the coin is a legitimate copy or counterfeit.
My guess, #2 but I'm working from pic not physical inspection which should include an accurate weight.
Look for a local professional dealer to consult, and check their professional affiliations.  Any questions about that, call me.
