Coin and Paper Money Collecting/1834 large cent varities

I have a Dansco Large Cent album that I have about 3/4 filled. In it, they have 5 openings for 1834. I understand all the lg & sm 8's,stars & letter sizing, thanks to the Noyes books but there is a opening in there for a plain 1834. What variety of that year should go in that opening. Any info you can provide would be great. I am lost at this point at trying to fill some empty spots. Thanks Dave

I'm not an expert on Large Cent Varieties. That said, I did look into NGC's "Variety Plus" section for LC's and found they listed 5 Newcomb varieties. Perhaps that is the answer. They are N-1 thru N-5. You can view them for no charge at the NLG site with photos and numbers certified. Here's the link for 1834 SM 8 LG ST MED LET 1C N-1.

Also check with the Early American Coppers (EAC) is a not-for-profit numismatic specialty organization founded in 1967 to serve as a point of contact for collectors of early U.S. copper coins - Colonials, Half Cents, Large Cents, and Hard Time Tokens.

Good Luck on your quest to complete the album.
