Hello Ronald,
I have a 1955D and 1969S penny, and I would like to know if they're DDOs, or is it just wishful thinking on my behalf? Thank you for your assistance.

Answer
Tosha:
Wishful thinking. I can't see any die doubling. Many of the 1969-S cents are actually machine doubling. It is flat rather than raised.

Here is a link with good info on all the major Lincoln Cent Varieties, including doubled dies and a discussion on machine doubling. http://lincolncentresource.com/

Thanks for your question.
