Question
Hi was wondering what you could tell me about this dime it would be greatly appreciated thank you so much

Answer
Hello Cassie,

This is the rarest Mercury dime. The designer was Adolph Alexander Weinman who also designed the Walking Liberty Half dollar. Only 264,000 1916 D dimes were produced; most other years the mintage was in the millions. The value ranges from $300 to $7000 depending on the condition. This coin is heavily counterfeited so I would suggest having it looked at by a professional numismatist like myself. I do not charge for this and you do not have to sell or buy anything.

Best Regards,
