Coin and Paper Money Collecting/1995 D quarter no ridges

Question
Dear Joe,
I have this quarter (dated year 1995) it looks like it had shifted in the machine to the right hand side some how. You can see where the force of the machine had started down on the coin but then some-way shifted, the letters in the word Liberty (RTY) hit the rim of the coin.
The coins edge is smooth as well, with no ridges.

Any of your expert advice would be so Greatly Appreciated.
Sincerely,
Linda H.

Answer
The is a mint error.  Depending upon the amount it is shifted, the value varies.
However, it is not a lot of money in any case.
A shift like you have may be worth $20-25.  Look on eBay for a similar coin, that will give you an idea of what they are selling for now.
