Coin and Paper Money Collecting/US penny

We have a 2000 penny mint d it has a triangle above the date with the # 33 stamped in the middle of the triangle

Hi Thomas,

This is something that was done to the penny after it left the mint.  It sounds like somebody from a Masonic Lodge stamped this (along with many others I'm sure) to be handed out to members of that lodge -- Mason's Lodge #33 (wherever that may be) ... I'm guessing that whomever received the Masonic Penny accidently spent it, and it found its way to you.

These generally sell for a dollar or two at coin shows.

I hope this helps,

My strong familiarity with all U.S. Mint coins, extensive reference library, and close relationships with many other dealers allows me to identify just about any coin made in the USA. I receive regular updates to all the current price guides -- both wholesale & retail -- to provide accurate values. So, with a good description or pictures, I should be able to identify and value any U.S. coin you have.
