Question
hi ray help me about the coins that I have from the world trade center from ntm  160 mg clad recovered from ground zero did I make a a bad call buying these silver coins 3 for 234.00 from gov mint

Answer
Sorry to say David, but they got you good.  All that is, is 3 regular silver eagles with about 8 cents worth of silver plating on each, in a "third world" holder -- that is, a holder from a company that is unrecognized by major collectors, dealers, or even eBay.  These were made by National Collectors Mint (a private company) to suck in unknowing collectors to way overpay for them based on their simpathy for the WTC event and their lack of knowledge about the value of stuff like this.

There was a 3-piece set in a nice box with COAs that just recently sold on eBay for $62.89 :

And individual pieces sell regularly for the same price as regular silver eagles :

I'm sorry I have to give you the bad news, but it is what it is.

I would suggest you join one of the big coin collecting groups on facebook, where you can ask questions about stuff like this, before you jump in head-first.  Here are a couple :

Coin collecting Buy Sell Trade Ask : https://www.facebook.com/groups/1491940997743498/

Coin Collecting Help : https://www.facebook.com/groups/coincollectinghelp/

I hope this helps,

Expertise

My strong familiarity with all U.S. Mint coins, extensive reference library, and close relationships with many other dealers allows me to identify just about any coin made in the USA. I receive regular updates to all the current price guides -- both wholesale & retail -- to provide accurate values. So, with a good description or pictures, I should be able to identify and value any U.S. coin you have.

Experience

I've been a coin dealer since the 1980's and a coin collector since the 1960's. I specialize in U.S. Silver Coins and have an active online website -- The Working Man's Rare Coins -- http://www.workingmancoins.com -- offering information and inventory in U.S. coins.
