Coin and Paper Money Collecting/unique pennies

Question
I have two pennies. One is a 1945 with a small blob of metal that joins the 4 and 5. The second is a 1951 or 1957 where the 1 or 7 is a shortened slash. Any info concerning value will be appreciated.

Answer
Hi Lloyd,
These errors are usually caused by bad dies.  They are not rare.  Actually, if you went through 100 pennies, you would probably find errors with 25 of them.

Sorry, you didn't hit a home run this time, but you never know when you will.

Regards
Joe
