Coin and Paper Money Collecting/American 1 dollar coin

QuestionI have a 1922 american one dollar coin. It has an american eagle on the front and the head of the liberty statue (i think) on the back. Please tell me its approx value (not in mint condition...)
AnswerHello Stuart,
Collectors have devised a numerical grading system for coins. It goes from 1 to 70. With a grade of 1 being barely identifiable as a coin and grade 70 being the imaginary perfect coin. Coins taken from circulation usually fall between grade 8-VG (very Good) and grade 50 (AU Almost Uncirculated).
As for a rough price range, depending on the grade and any damage to the coins (like having been cleaned, nicked, dented scratched etc.) here are some ranges of value:
The 1922 coin is a PEACE DOLLAR. Named for the eagle reverse resting on a rock with the word PEACE below. Most of our coins have the Eagle ready for war or Heraldic Design.
The 1922 no mint mark PEACE DOLLAR Coin varies in price from $16.00 in grade-8 to $17.00 dollars in grade-50. If it is Uncirculated (Mint State 65 to 70) it sells for much more.
The mint Mark will be on the reverse (back) of the coin between the rays below the letter "0" in the word ONE (if there is a Mint Mark at all). The D, S marks are similar in value.
These coins were produced in the MILLIONS. And are still readily available, thus the low prices for all the circulated specimens. If you think your coin was never circulated write me back for values.
I would go to any coin shop or show to sell coins but you would only get the most money selling it at a retail price to a collector. Selling it on-line has too many fees for it to be worth it.
If there any more information you require on this question just ask.
Thank You and Good Luck
