Question
My sons would like to begin collecting gold and/or silver coins.  They have about $300,  where do we start?

Answer
Hi Andy

The best place would be to look in your local phone book and see if there is a coin dealer nearby.  That way you can go in and look at the coins in person before purchasing them.  Otherwise you will have to go online and look for reputable dealers.  There are hundreds of them so you shouldnt have to worry.  I would suggest buying "A Guidebook of United States coins" by R.S. Yeoman.  Its a basic book with info and values and comes out every year since 1947.  Its $10 at a bookstore and totally worth it.
