Coin and Paper Money Collecting/Better Date

Question
I have recently got my greedy hands on 2 collections ( 2 loved uncles passed away and left to me ). I being a life long stamp collector am new to this. Now I'm hooked and bidding on coins at my local hobby shop ( they have bid boards ) I see some coins that say " better date " on the cards  what does this mean ????   thank you

Hi Dan,

Generally speaking, there are three categories for coins : common date, key date (rarest dates for a series), and better date (in-between common and key date).

Better dates may also be known as semi-key dates.
