Question
I have a bicenntial quarter that looks rather odd.  Ole George had a protursion on the end of his chin (square shaped and very prominent)which lies immediately above and touching the words "In God we".  On the reverse side is a raised area (circular, also very prominent).  This one is located adjacent to the letters "U" and "N" of the word united and impinges the lower left side of the stars and the words e pluribus.  The coin does not appear to be damaged.  Were there any design or minting flaws recorded on this quarter?  It sure is strange looking.

Answer
No design flaws were noted but that doesn't mean they don't exist.  It is possible that the marks were caused by a counting machine or a coin wrapping machine.  Best to have it looked at by an expert.
