Coin and Paper Money Collecting/Coin Bacteria

Question
Hello,

I am aware that you're a coin expert and I was wondering if you would a little time to please answer my question.

I touched a 50 cent Jamaican Coint, i found on the floor. Since I'm a coin collector, i'm basically up for anything.

But I forgot to wash my hands after that and I ate fries with my hands.

I read some articles saying coins are self-sterilizing , is that true?

Thank you!

Answer
Hi Coin Bacteria,

Coins are NOT sell sterlizing.  In fact, the oil on your hands, especially after eating some greasy fries will leave fingerprints on the coin that might show up now or in a few months and slowly eat into the coins surface.  Coins are not self sterlizing.
