QUESTION: I have recently inherited a collection of coins from my uncle who collected a variety of coins over the past 30 - 40 years.  Can you direct me as to where I would go to possibly sell this collection?

ANSWER: Hello Katie,   

Nobody throws away money. It seems to continue to change hands and be stored away. Although you might not realize it there are many, many old coins around.

I need to find where you are located and what types of coins you have foreign or USA coins.
Are they silver dollars etc?
Are they just circulated coins?
Are they in folders or books?

You should realize unless the coins are RARE or Very High Quality they are not that valuable. Like a circulated 1922 Silver Dollar is only selling about $10 US.

If you write back with the general location (nearest large cities) and telephone area code or codes and some zip codes in your area, I can direct you to an AMERICAN NUMISMATIC ASSOCIATION MEMBER/DEALER near there. They are ethical and trustworthy.

Or there is help at most large coin shows

Some Dealers May pay less and private collectors may pay more.

QUESTION: I am located in Woodstock GA a suburb of Atlanta.  The area code 770 and the zip is 30189.

We have a lot in books and some in cases so they really vary.  Not too many silver dollars.
