Question
Looking up what a 'token' of Kansas' bicentennial commemorative coin may be worth for a friend.
This coin is a bicentennial coin probably made of Bronze. Hamilton Kansas 1873-1973
There is a number on it that says 579.

I know this isnt much to go on.  I should and will get more info. from friend about the coin.
Any idea where I can find a site that might possibly list these type of commemoratives?
Thank you Sir,
Sincerely,
Carol

Answer
Dear Carol. What you have is indeed a token, which is not a commemorative. They are private issue and every year there are tens of thousands of them made. You can join the American Numismatic Association in Colorado, made of collectors entirely like you if you want to become a collector of tokens. There are thousands of collectors who collect tokens because of the choice of regions, topics or subjects, dates, metals, etc. The token has no cash value. Regards. N.
