Question
I have a complete penny collection from 1909 to 2007.  It includes 290 coins.  There is the 1909s vdb, 1914d, 1992 Plain, 1955 double die, 1972 double die 1983 and 84 double die and the 1995 double die.  This is a complete set.  Any idea on a rough estimate for how much this set is worth.  All coins from 1940 to 07 are GEM to UN. There are no fillers in this set the worst coin is at least a VF-20.  Thanks for your help.

Answer
Hi Doug,
As a collector youa re aware that the bulk of the value is in the key dates that you mention.  Just as a rough idea, without seeing the coins, it would probably be worth about $3,000
The coins from 1940-07 are common even in high grade so they are a minor component of the set.  If you are interested in selling the set, I have collectors assembling this series.  I can review the set for you and make you a fair offer.
I can be reached at OMEGAPM@aol.com or by phone at 800-474-6960
