Question
I was recently given a coin back as change that i took to be a quarter. upon further inspection, i see that it is not, and was just wondering what it is. Its about the size of a quarter and silver as well. on the front side there is a chinese man that takes up most of the front. on either side of him there are a chinese (?) symbol. on the back , there is 1993 at the top and chinese symbols on the bottom. then there is a large 100 across the middle.

Answer
Hi Trisha, this is a South Korea copper-nickel 100 Won (about .10 U.S.) coin featuring Admiral Yi Soon-Shin. There were 185 million minted that year. Depending on amount of wear its collector value may be up to about .50.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
