Coin and Paper Money Collecting/Franklin dollars

Question

I have some Franklin dollars dated "1972", "1978", and "1776-1976". Can you tell me the silver content in these coins? Thanks.

Answer
Hello Phil,

These are EISENHOWER dollars. They are only collected at present in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. In this mint state they can sell from 2 to $3 dollars to a collector.
The circulated dollars are trading at face value. If you spend them the bank will end up trading them in and melting them.
If there is an S mint mark they are from the San Francisco Mint They mat contain some silver and have a higher value.

Please check the nomination box on the rating page along with any comments you may have.

Thank You and Good Luck
