Question
Can you tell me what this is worth? A German 1 pfennig copper  1937. It has an A stamped under the 1.  Has been circulated. Good condition.

Answer
Hi Becky, Collector value of a coin depends on date, mint mark (if any), number minted and condition of a coin, including amount of wear, any dents, scratches or cleaning as well as collector demand for it.
There were 67.18 million of these bronze German 1 pfennig minted in Berlin (A) that year. It may be worth about .10 with heavy wear to around .25 with moderate wear to maybe $1 with light wear.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
