Coin and Paper Money Collecting/History of coins

Question
My question is what was the origin of each of coins in the United States?

Answer
I'm not sure what you mean by the origin of each of the coins?  The mint was authorized by Congress to make coins and they have.  They have made 1 cent pieces from 1793 to date with one each year except 1815.  They made 2 cent pieces from 1864 to 1873.  They made 3 cent silver pieces from 1851 to 1873 and 3 cent nickel pieces from 1865-1889.  5 cent pieces were made from 1866 to date and silver half dimes (also worth 5 cents) from 1794-1873.  Dimes have been made from 1793 to date.  20 cent pieces from 1875-1878.  There are also quarters, halves, dollars, and various gold pieces.  I'm sure more information is available at the U.S. mint website -- go to www.google.com and do a search for U.S. Mint and you should get there.  Hope this helped, Jim Lawniczak
