Coin and Paper Money Collecting/Lots of quarters!

Question
QUESTION: Hello,

My parents have given me a box of 2200 silver quarters to sell for them.  Some have been rolled by year and range from 1941-1964.  There are loose ones that range from 1930-1944 and some Libertys with no visible dates.

What is the best way to go about selling them?  Should they be unrolled to check condition?  How do I locate a dealer or buyer?  Any idea of what the price range might be for them?

Thanks for your help.

Deb

ANSWER: Sell them to a coin dealer. Find a coin dealer in the phone book or I may be able to locate one near you if you can't. They are worth about $2.25 each today, a little more, maybe $2.30, in lots of $1000 face value. Basicly, there are no rare dates in used quarters after 1932.

QUESTION: Thanks for the advice.  I would appreciate a recommendation for a coin dealer. I live in Park Ridge but anywhere in the Chicago area is fine.  I'd much prefer going to a dealer from a recommendation than grabbing the first name in a phone book.

Answer
Deb. Tell who ever you call I sent you so they know you are serious. Remember the price changes several times every day, and good luck. Neil.
